Ok I got fed up with the factory harness on my 84 toyota. Chasing shorted wires and such. Anyways. I'm wiring it myself with just the basics. I need help with how to wire the coil and igniter, and the voltage regulator for the alternator. Anybody have some tips? Any help is much appreciated.

I have been wanting to do this to my 83. I want to lose all the wires am not goin to use.
So am keeping a watch on this one. :dblthumb:

ok ! so I checked my setup !! the bottom of the coil / igniter has 7 wires ,2 plug to coil , 2 go to dist and hope they still have plug ,

the 3 left are wraped togeather
brown to ignition switch power
black is tach if used
white I have going to nothing
the igniter base must be grounded somehow "to frame or ground wire"
Hope this helps !!

What do you do to kill the motor? Switched power supply?

if you go with an msd box then you can get rid of the igniter an factory coil then use a msd coil. makes everything easier

brown ignition wired is switched that is on and off. yes I run a Gm one wire mini off ebay and a modified TG GM mount

oh yea I did have a set up to run a regulator but I don't remember how it was wired . but again search one wire toyota alt on ebay they have a 21$ conversion for certain toyota alt.s

One more quick question. I have the coil wired through a keyed switch with a 30 amp fuse, is that enough you think?
