What do you guys thing is ideal? Mine is sitting at 77" outside of tires. Front and rear are exactly the same. Thinking about some rear spacers to keep the tires out of the shocks, but I don't want to mess myself up.

That is a tough question. As you know every rig has its advantages and disadvantages on every obstacle. Weight, wheel base, track width, tire size, etc. All mentioned will determine the ease or difficulty of every rock.

I am about 84" and overall I like it for the wheelin that I do but I don't think a few inches narrower would make a noticeable difference. 77" does seam pretty narrow though.

A wider track width in the front than in the rear gives a vehicle a better turning radius. I don't know how big of a deal this would be for rock crawling though. I did ride about 5 years ago with Chris Durham in Tellico in his rock racing jeep truck and his front axle was about 6 inches wider than the rear and he said it made a tremendous difference in competitions.

Yeah I would like to get input and see what everbody thinks is a good all around width. The TJ was about 81-82 and I was thinking 77" was bit narrow

What ever a toy is running is a great track width. Those things just go.

On the other hand when you're as skilled of a driver as myself it doesn't matter. ::)

I flatter myself as such as the case....

If you decide you want some wheel adapters "spacer" I can get you a deal on them. Just let me know. 1", 1.25", 2", or 3".

pm me the bolt pattern and thickness you want and I will get you a price.

For real.

ATTN: Jake! What is your front track width?
55" WMS axle, 2" BSed wheels (most run 8's some run 10's) , 2" spacers. ****ers get pretty wide, that's by they can't steer for ****.

my yota is right around 75 front and 72 rear 35's on std bs wheels
the front is spaced way out - sucks

I like em narrow if you can keep em low, wide if your tall

a narrower rear does make a big difference in comps - not so much a better turning radius just the smaller the better to fit thru the cones.

If I could pick my my ideal setup without rear steer it'd be 78 front with 45-50 degrees steering and 72" rear if it all would fit with the rest of the design

Oh, and my Yoat is somewhere around 82" and 84" wide up front. I am not sure what it is exactly out back, but I believe it is narrower.

A quick measurement from the other day up front Im about 80" outside of the tire. .... Mine went inbetween Dollars trailer fenders without crazy bulging them or anything... I wish I remembered what he said the width was

I like being narrower than the Turd quit a bit... i think alot of it has to do with proportions on the rig as well... not hangin rocker and so forth. Maybe a more real world measurement and comparison would be outside of rocker to outter lip of tire... or even belly to outside of tire.. Be interesting to get those differences at different hieghts from ride height just for shits... :dunno:

upper 80's on tons. the lockouts are like 82" wide on a 60 front. don't want hub hanging out. DFs get you an inch narrower. most trailer fenders are 82" inside. keep it in your lockouts. ideally you put your rear narrower than your front. I had 4" narrower rear on the sheep and it was the **** for maneuverability. if your front fit, you didn't look back to see if your rear was going to hang up and flip you when going fast. I widened it, regret the **** out of it. makes turning a dream being narrow rear. DON'T make yuour rear wider than front, you'll hang up constantly. move them shock tabs in. just the outside on. cut it off, put it inside. done.

Bash Buggy was 77" on a 48" chassis. Worked great.

If you go wider, do it on both axles. Wider rear than front will be way irritating.

My new buggy is 83" on a 54" chassis.

I would rather be narrow than wide if the chassis is stable.
