Stuck between the two DE Rams. I like the way the TG ram is grooved for the 4 clamps that come with it and the price, but I've also heard it's worth the money for have a PSC ram. Who all is a trail gear vendor if those even exist?

PSC for their customer service alone.

I've used their DE ram and now am using a single on the buggy

Just wondering why did you go from a de to a single?

better packaging.

DE was out front on the truggy. the single on the buggy is behind the axle and protected way better and it's a cleaner look.

Gotcha :dblthumb: I was just wondering always seen de ram seemed to perform better.

Meh.. No performance advantage I don't think Shelbs.. Just same amount of turns from lock to lock... Which doesn't sound like anything, but dam sure would be nice...
Will, Daves will hook you up if you decide to go with TG. Call him. Like said above, PSC has some badass customer service. No ****. Lance can walk you through installing the whole dam thing if need be. I am 100% positive of that! Don't even ask. Haha

honestly didn't see a bit of difference since the orbital was matched with the ram (Kelvin at PSC told us which orbital to order)

Hmm. Guess I just assumed since everything I ever deal with is de at work. Didn't even factor it in besides bore size and stroke. Doubt it happens in crawlers but can say I have seen a lot of de cylinders wear about 2 inches long in the bore in the middle from driving straight a lot. To the point seals won't hold. Takes time but it happens Thanks for the input. Kinda feel like a dumbass since I'm a hydraulic specialist just never had a de set up on my own rig and never actually thought about it fully in cylinder types and volume with my rig on de versus single. Brain fart on my acct :****:

Given the same input pressure: A double ended cylinder will have the same amount of force turning each direction. A single ended ram has more force going rod out because of the effective area of the piston is larger. The effective area of the piston is smaller going rod in due to having the rod in the center of the piston.

Splitting hairs on the details but a single ended ram will be stronger steering to one side depending on the mounting of the cylinder.

Exactly! Hundred percent. I'm setting up front and rear steer rocks and didn't want mine stronger one was the the other so wanted de cylinder not to mention trying to figure out if I need dual pumps and all. Once I actually know my flow out put and proper bore size I'll be good. First time dealing with rocks and 47s ever so kinda overwhelming myself with information instead of stepping back and doing the math. Plus factor in valve ect. Rocks suck sometimes dammit. Weird how I can pull up on a job and not doubt **** with what I decide is the issue but doing my own I 2nd 3rd and 4th guess myself

We sell PSC and Trail Gear. If you send me a pm or email I can price out both of them. We have had good luck with both brands but PSC really knows their steering so its great to be able to call them for any questions.
