Just curious, it would seem that while there are quite a few people that have trailers for their trail rigs, there are probably just as many or more that do not, including myself.

If I were to purchase a handful of flat deck, tandem axle trailers specifically set-up for hauling offroad vehicles of various types, do you think people would be interested in renting them out for a day, 2 days, weekend, week or longer?

Few questions:
-what brand would be the best bang for the buck?
-what length would be sufficient for most vehicles?
-how much would you pay per day to rent?
-what would be the most convenient central location for picking up the trailer?
-how far would you drive to pick up the trailer and from where would you be driving?

I just thought it would be nice if there was a reliable source of decent trailers that would be rented for reasonable rates.

Any input you may have would of course be appreciated.

I am going to Uhaul friday to get one of there car haulers for the trip to Naches this weekend and its 49.95/day, personally i think it wouls be great if some people would do this. A price like $50.00/ weekend would be nice. I had also thaught about checking with Signal Trailer.

Theres a guy on CL that rents out his 16 ft car hauler. Not sure what he charges.

I would love a different source then U-haul, as it seems like I never get good service with them.

I typically don't need to rent anything but sometimes my trailer just wont work (its too tall for alot of vehicles).

I'd 2nd the $50-$60/weekend fee for the trailer. but it'd take you a while to break even.

yeah, breaking even at a rental rate that low would take a while :)

Uhaul is definitely a pain in the ass and their autotransport trailers cannot really handle rigs that have a track width over approximately 75" and they don't have electric brakes.

Just thought I'd toss the idea around because when I needed a trailer, the options were kinda limited.
