I got water in my transmission and need to know the best way to get it all out with out pulling tranny and torqconverter.:eeek:

I have already drained it once, replaced the filter. When i drained it i let it sit for two days with the pan off to let all i can drip out. There is still some moisture in it though, the fluid is a strawberry milk color. I really don't want to pull the torqconverter unless i have to.:booo:

Any suggestions?

Does your rig have an external tranny cooler? If so, try this. Get a 5 gallon bucket of tranny fluid, and an empty 5 gallon bucket. Unhook the leads to the tranny cooler, and rig up some extensions so that the both hoses can sit in the empty bucket. Fire off the rig, and see which one pisses fluid. Leave that hose in the empty bucket, and place the other hose (suction) in the full bucket. Allow the tranny to empty into one bucket and suck from the full one. Cycle thru all the gears. Let it run for a while. Because the pump is running, might clean up the fluid for you.

Just my idea. Don't know if'n it'll work.

bigget problem is Pete that the linings in most automatics are glued on with a waterbase glue and it dosent take much to have them come off. You could take it to a tranny shop or oil change place and have the flush and fill it. Maybe you will get luck and no damage was done.

you could try Tony's idea, might work. But either way replace the filter for sure. Hopefully you haven't been driving it for along time like that.

Try the 5 gallon bucket/hose /flush idea that Tony's mentioned..and change the filter---
Pete, I've got to ask-How the heck did you do this?:redneck:

And No i have not driven it much sence then.

There is a spot on the torque converter to drill for a drain (I had one which had the markout that made it easy to find) Then tap the hole for a small plug.
