Wandering if any one has ever had this happen to them . Went to pull my jeep out of the garage last night , and after starting it it started making this awful squalling noise by the time i got back to shut it off the motor started to strain for a min then a huge boom .. It was back to running fine and looked ok .. Went to pull it out and had no gears in the trans .. Took the think apart today and the front pump gear was broke in two pieces with the ears broke off and the outer gear that it turns in is welded to the front plate ..

I did something similar to a car. I didn't have the converter fully engaged on the pump teeth and broke the pump. >:(

Fairly easy fix, just sucks that you have to pull the trans. More than likely that was a reman pump. Evidently it was machined wrong and the outside pump gear couldn't rotate. If it was due to the converter, it would of wore the inside gear out, and the outside would be fine. I would definitly have the trans gone through to get out any little metal flakes that might have got sucked in. Possibly even the converter cleaned.
Is there any scaring on the other side of the pump? If not, throw out what I just said and write me as clueless.

The pump snout looks good , and there is no scaring around the inner gear .. Not sure what happened but im not liking the put it together take it apart thats been going on lately .. Im starting to have with draws .. as the Honda commercial says .. I WANA RIDE >>>>

Is there scaring around the outside gear? Something had the be putting force on it to make it freeze up.

No .. No scaring around the out side . The gears looks like brand new .. it even measures the same thickness with the calipers as the other transmissions gears i have ..
