Saturday Tiny and Monster rode up with we to the Ahtanum Clean-up in my XJ. We met the Ski-Benders at the Sno-park at 9 AM. We took the North Fork as our clean-up area. Our starting point was the snow level.

I took this picture on the way up.

We drove up to the snow level and I pressed on throught the snow patches. I came very close to getting stuck so I turned around. I met another guy that was sent up to help. He was in a TJ. He wanted to go up through the snow to the open area I didn't get to. So I turned around I followed him up until I got stuck.

After the TJ pulled my rig out, we headed back down the North Fork picking up trash a long the road. We took the Blue Lake cut off and work our way to Blue Lake. We ran into some snow and deep standing water on the way in. At Blue Lake we had lunch and then headed back down the North Fork to Shockley Rock where we met the people that were working from the bottom up. We all went back to the Sno-park and dropped off the trash and supplies the DNR gave us to use.

It was a good day. I want to thank the people that came out to help with the clean-up. I hope to see more of you next year.

You should advertise these events. I'd make time to come out and clean and play with your guys.

I'm such a sucker for work parties.

I thought I had posted it here but I guess not. I only had a date and I didn't have the rest of the info until a few days before the clean-up. I had it posted on our local forum and could not get much help. I am hook up with the DNR Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator now so I will know what to post next time.

I am happy to see a few wheelers did come out. There were a lot of people from the Ski-Benders Snowmoblie Club. I didn't know any of them but some of these guys are wheelers too! Maybe on this forum.

I will let you know when the next work party is.

:cheer: Come on over and wheel with us Karl. I wheel the Ahtanum a lot. Wheelin' there is getting easier with the snow melting. The dust is starting to take over the area.

NOOO!!! Not dust. After summer convention, I tried for two days to get all the dust out of my rig. I thought I had it all until I turned on the defrost on my way to work one morning.

We do a lot of dust wheelin' in the summer over here. By September you can't any traction in the power when climbing some easy hills without airing down and the power dust passes you up the hill.
