I've always had an interest in motorcycle trials type riding. I'm actually surprised you don't see anyone riding them at rock crawling parks, I guess they aren't popular at all in this area.

I'd like to learn to ride one.
I know there is the trials training center in Sequatchie TN, anyone been there/know anything about it?

Re:

I have been there with freinds few years ago guy that owns it is super cool lots ov very good riders up that way

A guy rode with us at the mtolive trails next to grey rock one time he did all the rock trails right behind or sometimes around us! It looks like mostly balance!

Re:

Watched a demo at the bikefest a few weeks back, these things ate sick!! Pretty much balance and athleticism. Well that counts my old, fat, unbalanced ass is out, but they were cool.

Typically not the kind of thing i expect a guy who breaks down porches with his hammock to be riding :flipoff1:

Haha I about forgot about that. :flipoff1: molaugh

I don't think I'll be able to find a legit trials bike cheap enough to buy just to satisfy my curiosity.

I guess I'll just stick to some backpacking and lite mountain biking for outdoor athletic type activities

Yeah I'm working in losing some weight, when I get to my goal I'm going to go down there for a training weekend.

Re:

****'s too much work for me! On the flip side, I've seen people throw MX bikes around like trials bikes. And they got a seat for when you get lazy and wanna just cruise lol

I got a little xr80 that I goof off on almost everyday lol u can find them for almost nothing and parts are very cheap. I just put a aftermarket exhaust on it tonight I found on eBay for 25 bucks booyang

I actually was considering something like that or a TTR 125 and mounting up some trials tires on it just to poke around the rocks on.

Hell I want another dual sport too. My daily commute is only 5 miles of back roads... Been really thinking about a TW200 with an ATV tire on the back, and just ease around in the woods.

Finding a bw350 would probably be difficult .

Is that Brutus any more than a concept bike? I bet it costs more than $1500 too...

We got 2 ttr125 one is like new needs topend the other is old an beat up but has a good top end if I remember correctly I could check on them tomorrow an I bet my boss would let them go for around 600 bucks for the pair let me know I will be glad to get pics of em.

Re:

Would the suspension be anywhere near sufficient on those bikes mentioned for anything remotely resembling trials type riding? If anything, I would figure a 125cc 2 stroke mx bike or an early 4 stroke 250 mx bike would be much better being that they come factory with badass suspension? 125cc 2 strokes have been around a long time so it should not be too hard to find one cheap.

I bought a brand new Honda CRF 250R when the 4 stroke mx bikes hit the scene back in 04. Gave $5725 for it out the door, rode it 2 years on trails and mainly highways/dirt roads riding wheelies, sold it in great shape for $2300....which should mean they could be had pretty damn cheap now. Those 4 stroke mx bikes make badass power and it's consistent power, unlike 2 strokes. Of course, most trials bikes I've ever seen have been 2 stroke, so maybe that wouldn't be in your best interest.

1980 Kawasaki KE 100

My 2nd dirt bike was a KE 100 Lol. I also had a CRF230F (wannabe mx bike), it was fun until I rode my buddies CRF250R.....then I realized how little power the 230 had and how shitty the suspension was. So I sold that beyotch and went and picked up the 250R. Tried my hand at mx'ing, just wasn't for me.....too much risk involved mis-judging a jump and/or getting slammed by other douche riders.

Just disregard trail bikes all together and get a street bike! :dblthumb: molaugh

Go over to the Trials Training Center, you can rent bikes there. Also takes classes. I've never met the owner but know his daughter and pretty sure her bf is on here occasionally. They go up there a lot.

I used to trials bike ride when bored, and always wanted to transition to motorcycles. But alas, I'm now too fat and ache when I see someone walk down a flight a stairs.
