I am looking into getting 35x12.50x 17 tires for Rubydoo and was wondering what you all thaught of these?

Before I got the deal from wildman on the tires and wheels he had these were the tires I was gonna run on the jeep. Supposed to be a good all around and great in the snow and ice if you get them siped.

You must mean the Truxus MT's... MTR's are Goodyears.

For the price of the Truxus there are probably better tires out there.

Like any DOT approved hwy tire:

1. The tread lugs are too tight which means they will require a lot of RPMS to clean out, if they clean out all. Which is also the reason behind them being quiet on the road.

2. Most of them shown on Interco's site are 2 ply sidewalls which bring the suck. Looks like you have to go 37" to get a 3 ply sidewall.

3. Besides having a 2 ply sidewall they're a radial, which means they will probably have a good footprint with low PSI for the snow so long as you have beadlocks to keep them on the rim.

4. Siping of any kind, while helping traction in certain cases, also allows for more chunking of the tread blocks.

5. It's no TSL or SX.

6. If I were buying a road tire for my Jeep, I'd just get an MTR or Krawler

Ive been reading they clean better than MTR's and BFG's and ride well too.

They have factory siping and what looks like a TSL style tread pattern scaled down. Before i wrecked my rig i was going to get a set of these in the 37" flavor.

But like pointed out as a radial they have a weaker sidewall, but for a DD i think they'd be great. Ive read reports of up to 40k miles on them:worship:

that being said, i agree with jobby... if you want a DOT tire, go for the MTR or krawler. im so excited to finally run my MTRS. i watched my buddy run O psi on non beadlocks and drive around, and the bead wouldnt pop off. im down with that.:awesomework:

I've seen quite a few of this tire running on the XJ's and they do very well--seems like a pretty good tire; 2-ply sidewalls are the weak spot, though...You checked out the BFG mud KM2?

Weak side walls, they do come sticky comp but you drive on the street so I don't recommend them. stick to a 3 ply sidewall radial IE MTR's or KM2's

Yeah, the KM2's look pretty good---kinda 'krawleresque'; supposedly have good road manners, and seem to grip well; I don't have a set, but my buddy manages Discount up here and has 37's on his '05 Dodge Tow rig; I've driven it, and they are quiet!!!!!

I run the Swamper SSR's, they work great all around, I have punched out 1 side wall in 5 years. They drive well on the street, they are a little noisier on the street than the BFG's I ran before but you can run them down to 3-4 psi and they will stay on the wheel without beadlocks. Mine are 1/2 worn and have 25k on them.

Have MTR's on the race truck, and they are tough. The TT250 didn't seem to phase them at all, but, that being said, they are run at 35psi in that setting.
