****...that pan is more then I paid for the entire trans I had my doubts about the one I swapped in, most people don't just swap a trans without there being an issue. The kid I got it from said he swapped it out because he wanted an overdrive trans.I have one of the knock off lokar dipsticks. Now that I think about it a little bit, it doesn't lock down very well.Since I'm 0 for 2 on them....I'd like to figure out why it's building so much heat that the coolers won't keep it alive. The first couple trips on the other trans went fine, I'd check the lines in and out the coolers and one would be HOT and the other was slightly warm. These trips were much less abusive then the last couple. My junk is geared high, stock 2:1 with 3.XX in the axles on 38s, the gearing is the actual problem isn't it? It seems like the convertor never gets locked up crawling around at 13-1400rpm or cruising trail to trail at 900-1k rpm. I kinda remember guys talking about killing transmissions the first trip out because the converter was building so much heat?
