Saw the ad for the turf tires for sale and got me curious as to how they actually do crawling. Ive seen some cut ones on the rears of a few rigs before but never really talked to anyone that has ran them. Is the compound of the tire hard? Seems like they might be heavy also.

Got a buddy that cut a set for his new buggy. Started at 140 lbs,he cut and grooved 45 lbs off 'em. Definitely hook tars!! :****: drool

I wouldn't trade mine for any tire out there sorry, also I have 200 dollars a tire in them, beat that.

Depends on the tire to. I've saw several different tread designs. Some look & pull great when cut. Others look like they wouldn't hook no matter how u cut em.

Tim, what size tires and brand are you running? They look perfect for the wheeling I do and $200 a tire fits in with my style budget too.

I have seen them dirt cheap at farm equipment auctions, we bought some a few years ago in 16s on implement rims for $150 a pair. Wish I had cleaned up on them, haven't ran across any in a while, the ones we bought wound up on dads tractor before I could use them.

Man!!! These things are over a grand EACH if'ya bought'em new! WOW But hell...Bacon climbs every-damn thing you put in front of him! Can't argue with that kinda performance!! I need a tire I can' use as an excuse when I run outa balls and talent! laughing1 laughing1

lol...u make a great point. Mayb I should go back to Thornbirds haha...my talent and balls not near as big yalls molaugh

The tires work great on the loose stuff but on rocks they stink. I have punctured mine two times on rocks because of the soft compound once you cut off the center lugs. Going to try some cut boggers this year and so far on the test ride they work as good or better in the loose stuff to me.

I think a trimmed 18x16.1 vtread hook dirt out back and a sticky sx or bogger up front would be the way to go... that'd have to be the ultimate compromise :dunno:

I was running the cut 21.5x16.5 goodyear soft trac 2 turf tires with boggers up front. Was good for a few seasons but new replacement tires were $1,000 each and then you have to shave them. Too much.

Good info.....I agree my 44 cut boggers will kick ass in dirt and loose rock....but on hard rock lateral traction suffers and i find i need more throttel than I would like at times.... also compared to my buddys uncut 44 boggers they are wearing and chunking a lot faster. If turf tires are really no diff ill probably go back to cut TSL's. So far they have been the best all round tire for my rig that I have ran.
