Since the forums have gotten so big we're having a huge problem with the upload folder size. We have plenty of room on the server for the photos, but I can't figure out how to increase the limit in the forums. Might need to disable it and post a tutorial on how to upload to photobucket or something...

Went right over my head...........
go to www.photobucket.com and create an account. Then you simply upload the photo to the account. From there you click the image link under the photo and paste it here. Easy as that.... ;D

Bored at work so......

How To Post Pictures:

This sounds a lot harder than it is. Once you do it a couple times its simple.

1st. Go to www.photobucket.com

Next, click on " Sign up "

Next, create a screen name and password.

Now, begin uploading pictures from your media.

To do this, click the blue tag "Choose files" When you do this, your "My Pictures" file should pop up on the screen, (if not, use the pull down at the top to choose the place your pictures are stored) click the picture you want to upload then click "Open" it will begin uploading the photo to photobucket. (double clicking the picture will do the same thing)

To load multiple pictures; press and hold the Ctrl button, then click (once) each picture that you want to upload, click "Open" and they will load automaticly.

After they load, there will be 4 tags underneath the picture, Email&IM, Direct Link, HTML Code, and IMG Code.

As your typing your text in your post pull up another window (Ctrl+N will do it) and go to the photobucket site. Copy and paste the "IMG Code" tag from photobucket into your post.

Once you post, the image will appear in the thread.

Once you upload to photobucket, you can also resize your photos if you want to. (medium or large are good)

{edit for a spelling correction}

Re: How to post photos? stupid here again

We really need to get in the habit of using photobucket an other free pic hosting services. The site is seeing alot of traffic and its going to have more problems if we all keep uploading here. thumb.gif

I use photobucket , its really easy and it will resize them automatically so thats one process simpler for me :afro:

Re: How to post photos? stupid here again

Just remove the function where you can upload more than one photo per post. That should cut down on uploads a ton.

Re: Tutorial:How to Post Photos from Photobucket

I limited the size of attachments per post down to two. Please now that if you attach a photo it will be removed after about 30 days by default. If you upload from Photobucket it will stay there as long as you do not delete it from your PB account. There is no limit to the number of pictures you can link from Photobucket per post. PLEASE LINK YOUR PICS from a Photobucket or similar account.

Damn, you mean you can post pictures here. I never have.

The IMG code in Photobucket will appear below or to the right of each photo. Look for this heading:
IMG Code - Forums & Bulletin Boards

x2 I have always linked from photobucket on any forum I have ever been on....

The other thing i noticed is when folks click quote to reply to pictures, it copies the picture again and agian. Does that not take up space?

Yes.

And some people don't reply to a quote outside of the quoted text... so then it sometimes gets confusing.
