Yeah that is Nolen's buddy Karl. We wheeled with him in Hot Springs when he was in the Jimmy's chasis he bought from Mike. Super nice guy, sweet ass rig!

oh ok, I knew it was nolens buddy just didn't know which one. Who ended up with the Jimmy's Buggy?

Wow, that thing turned out awesome. I love it.

Carl sold the red buggy to a guy in Tuscon AZ. He asked a few questions once he bought it and since then I have not heard a peep out of him. He had ordered this rig before he even purchased the Jimmy's buggy from Mike. When Mike posted up the red buggy, I called Carl and said that it was a no-brainer and he had to buy it, sight unseen. He committed to Mike on the phone and flew over to Longview and sealed the deal.

The guys at Twisted are real stoked about this rig because (unlike me) Carl just gave them free reign to build up whatever they wanted. They put the best of the best in it. Carl is so excited. He is pretty mellow (outwardly) and I can just tell this toy has him all "Twisted" up :spin:

He is headed up Wednesday to pick it up in SD and do a little wheeling. I am sure he will stop at BTF in Harrison on the way home and Mike can get us some mo pics!!

Whats teh specs on the new rig? WB? Gears? all the things that make it go bling!

102" WB
5.38 Hi9's Detroits
Spider 45* axles with CTMs
Walkers to replace the TRs when he picks it up
Silverado SS all Aluminum 6.0 (tweaked) I would guess under 500HP, but we will see. He supposedly has a dyno sheet for it.
TH350 w/Ultra Bell
Atlas 3.8

Do you think the Rear HI 9 will have any problems with that much power. I know it won't be Rock Bounced but just curious.

I do, and think it is going to die. Carl is a really good driver for someone kinda new to the sport. Really good. Very calm and calculated....that is until he gets denied something someone else makes and then he hammers down laughing1

I say he kills it after 6 months, but before 1 year.

I love when new rigs come out. I love looking them over and bing like, i could use that, and that, and that would look cool, and wow that thing is very very similiar to mine, and blah blah, blah. I love it. Those guys build cool ****.

EDIT: OK, I do hate something about it. It stuck out like a sore thumb. The oil filter ON TOP OF THE ENGINE and mounted horizontal. How on earth do you change that without making a mess or winching the buggy up a tree with the rear suckdown?

480 HP, now I have to get this new rig built to lay the smack down on him thumb.gif lots of people have asked so here is the deal. Like Nolan said Carl had this car in the works before we opened this branch of Bent & Twisted here in Harrison, Ar I told him NOT to ever sell the car because he has this shop, you wait a life time to have a car like that built better keep it and run it hard. Twisted builts a fine car and I am sure it will hold up to the wheeling carl puts it through.

I know there is lots of hype over the T-Fab rig of Dereks about it being so big and running great but look at Brians car, two full years on that chassis and we have fixed nothing major on it. Last year he finished 3rd east and 11 west and 2nd at the finials and now a 5th at Moab, I'll let our chassis speak for themselfs, time tested.

I'll let you know more about carls buggy when it gets here, I don't want to drive it at all, I know I'll put a dent in it thumb.gif

I thought the same thing. I already started searching for a billet oil filter. That CarQuest filter on the top of the motor is Ghey! That said, I bet they had to use some sort of relocation kit to get it up there so it is not hanging down. Maybe with some more time they can find a better spot for it, but I bet that is the only place. I got to look at Kula's rig this past week on the way to the ski mountain and his LS1 is so tightly tucked into the chassis, I don't know how in the hell they got Carl's 6.0 in there. I look forward to seeing one side-by-side to compare.

One of the things TC does is push the motor way back and down low. The Truck intake on the 6.0 is tall and to fit it all in there you have to make some changes. I hope to have some input on mine and we can find a more suitable spot than that. If not, I will have to build an AL tray under it to catch all the jizz that spills out. I think this is the first GenIII 6.0 thay have installed into one of their chassis. All they changed out was the oil pan.

It would help alot to put an LS1 intake on it. We set our motors back and down on the XRRA rigs to help them jumping better, don't know why it would have to be that far back in a trail rig :dunno: I know back and lower helps with the CG thing but the filter on top is GAY thumb.gif

Tfab overbuilds their chassis. I personally LOVE them, but I think the amount of .188 DOM in it is way overkill. The chassis was built to withstand Trent and Gunmetalcruz flogging them to no end.

I like the Jimmy's chassis a lot. It is comfortable and simple. Probably weighs 500# less than the Tfab chassis.

Comparing Trent to Brian is apples to oranges though. Trent is not a finesse driver. He does not drive smart, he drives hard. Hell, the mere fact that Brian can compete and win and NOT break his RC D60 rear axle says something about his driving style. Trent built his rig with a RC D60 and it lasted 1 run. Trent bent 3/4" DOM links with solid AL pounded inside them on 1 1/4" heims. He bent them. Brian runs 1/2 " DOM links with 3/4 heims and they survive. Brian is a damn fine driver. Having a rig go through that much competition and not break like you say is as much a testimony to his skill as it is to the buggy.

It was built to full competition specs. There is nothing trail-rig about this build.

I'll try to get a pic of mine tomorrow for ya. Mine is relocated and lays horizontal next to the shifter linkage on the tranny. So it is tucked horizontally between the lower rail and the transmission on the drivers side. Its protected on the underside by the entire skid plate. Downside, have to drop the skid to change the oil, but at least it wont drip on everything.
