Alright got a question. My dad does mostly crawling with some periodic bouncing around but nothing crazy. We are doing a 6.0 swap with 241 to 205 doubler. The 241 is run upside down to allow room for the shifters and driveshaft putting the tranny addapter upside down. I was thinking rather than buying a clocking ring I would just run the adapter upside down. My question is can I run the cross member above the trans. My only concern was with the force for the adapter being a pulling instead of a compression. I will have a stout xmember supporting the back tcase also.

This is how I setup the buggy I was building. I also installed a support on the rear output.

It will be fine, a lot of people mount the adapter upside down. My old buggy was the same way. I think it's better that way so that your mount is absorbing the force of a hard belly hit.

I have a buddy with a buggy that is setup with the transmission and transfercase mount (th400/203/205 combo) are upside down and he has never had an issue with it. Actually made taking out the drivetrain easier the last time we freshened up the transmission.
