How would the 5.2L Magnum V8 from like a 1995 or newer Cherokee work in a buggy?

and what a can be done with the transmissions I think those cam with like a 44RE/RH or a 46RE/RH auto can you put a manual valve body in them?

what are you running now? just curious. I will offer nothing of value to this thread, as most of my post do.:redneck:

In my Jeep I am running a 1990 4.2L I6 with a Mopar IF kit modeled after I think the 1995 IF wrangler.

The V8 question is for some thing else in the works...

The 5.2 magnum is a little heavy for a buggy, isn't it? Cast iron block, heads...
The 46RH that came behind them in the ZJs is the offspring of the torqueflite 727 so, well supported.

To build or buy a 727 can get expensive, especially when you use a reverse manual valve body. For me chevy trannys are great because it costs me about 500$ to rebuild them. I had a shot to buy a dodge truck V-10 motor, but could not find an adapter to TH 400:mad: The V-10 is 488 cubes of small block snap, with big block torque:masturbanana[1]:that would have been cool.

Are you saying some of the Mopar engines you can get an adaptor to run th400? that would be great it that is the case?

No I have not been able to find a mopar to chevy bellhousing adapter anywhere.
