This seems like a good spot for this thread its about the garage.

Ive been doing alot of fab work latley and Ive always just opened the doors when it gets smokey in there,But now I have a/c and heat and i dont want to lose my cold/warm air.But as you know these fumes and such from welding and grinding is bad for us.I already have lung problems so i figured i best do somthing about this before I die and never get to drive my new zuk!!cause Ive woke up pretty sick a few times now from breathing this ****.

I looked allover the 4x4 forums and didnt see alot of info about this so I decided i would post a thread incase someone else is thinkin the same.

I went down to harbor freight and foun a dust collector motor and a hose kit.The set only cost me $180.00 and no fab work was needed other than a 5"to 4" reducer I made.
here it is.

I installed this with a hood provided in the hose kit over my metal welding table in one corner of the shop. With a Y on it so I can suck napp from other areas of the shop also.

The hood and the exhaust line are ready (im shooting the nappy air right outside the shop)

I installed gates on the table hood sucker and on the Y for other areas,so I can suck only at the table or both.:awesomework:
heres the gates.

enjoy,I hope this helps someone out.just another idea for this issue.I fabbed all day yesterday and the air quality in the shop was excellant.:beer:

I got a fan just like that. Actually two of them. One just like yours but a little smaller and the other is a little bigger and in a nice stainless flush mount wall box. I got both at a garage sale yesterday for $5 bucks.:redneck:

Thats alot to spend on a fan. Looks good though. Your lungs will thank you.

Honesty,I didnt care what it cost.I would have prefered to pay what you did.But I dont get time to yard sale.I didnt want to get into some long project on this,so having everything there hoses, fittings and all was priceless. Now I have clean air to breath and i can get right back to trying to build a zuk buggy.:awesomework::beer:

That's not a ventilation system, THIS is a ventilation system.
