vortec 4.3 oil pressure sending unit ?

There is a groove in the back of the intake and block (red arrow). Below that groove should be a threaded port facing straight up. That is where the gauge is supposed to go. The groove is there so that the pipe adapter for the sending unit can clear. I have seen one before without a port there though.

Thanks Trevor.
There is an indent and a threaded port exactly where you have described. The diameter is less than the size of the male end of the sending unit so I assume the unit is #7 in the picture and #6 is an adaptor of some sort. The difference in diameter is what threw me off. Nothing I can't sort out, just have to figure out what thread it is.
Cheers.

Yup. I wanna say 1/8" NPT into the block sounds right, but don't quote me on that.

yeah from the factory they come with a long adapter (#6 in the picture) if you can't come up with something let me know because i'm pretty sure i have one laying around my garage somewhere. haha as i was typing this, i just realized that you are in canada which is a little ways from where i'm at... i guess if you were really desperate and needed it, i could mail it to you if you pay for shipping... but i'm sure you can probably find something and if not let me know.
