I'm a Republican, a very conservative one at that. I dont like any of the 3 contenders out there (Clinton, Obama, McCain). Going into this past Tuesday, it was pretty obvious McCain was going to get the Republican Nomination. So as a Republican what good would my vote do?
However, in a primary you don't HAVE to vote your party. You can cross over. I think McCain can beat Clinton, but not Obama. I dont believe the Republican party has the stomach to bloody up Obama without it coming out looking like a race war. So I voted for Hillary, a vote for her is one less for Obama, and she ended up winning Texas. So with little luck the Republicans in all the states with outstanding primaries will also step up and vote for her. Make the November election Hillary vs McCain, and McCain wins.
Now I'll be the 1st to say if she gets in office, you can all have a free swing at me. That is if I dont off myself 1st.
The risks.....that this "Dream Ticket" becomes a reality. Hillary would obviously take Obama as a Vp, but Obama would never take her as a VP. So we'll see who gives.
Alright off my political election soapbox.
