VW parts

Anybody have the hookup on vw parts? I'm looking for a mechatronics unit for a 2010 Jetta 2.0 tdi. Found a few on eBay for about $1k. So, I figured I'd see if anyone on here could do better.

Yea, I checked there first. As I've been digging I've found out that it has to be programmed by vw for that specific car. Used will not work.

Then get a VW dealer or an independent VW shop to program it, shouldn't cost more than an hour of labor. I used to do that all the time when I worked for Audi.

I'm trying. It's a friends that lives an hour away. Currently we're just scouring for parts and he's trying to decide if he just wants to trade it in on a good day and be done with it. I can't blame him at all. It's been nothing but trouble.
