So i picked up a m8000 yesterday and now I'm starting to sort through everything so I can hopefully get it installed soon. The control box is partially disassembled (guy said he thought it had a bad solenoid) but I cant find any diagrams for this thing. Unlike most of the diagrams this only has 3 solenoids in the box instead of 4...? I'm also a little confused by the power/ground cable routings. Any help/pics would be helpfull.

:D

Warn did a free retrofit on my 9000i & replaced the 3 solenoid system with the 4. The old system has a flaw allowing it to possibly stick in the run position (happened to me). Check & see if they still cover that problem.

Shall I call and just say that it is sticking?

You for sure don't want it to stick on running like mine did to me. Mad scramble to unhook the battery cable lol. I would call them & see what they say, especially since it is a safety issue.
This link might provide a little more info on the winch.

My experience with Warn customer service was awesome but this was 4 or 5 years ago.

Well called warn - they were very helpful but said the retrofit would not work with my winch. He was able to send me a diagram but now...

where do the wires from the 3 terminals on the motor (A,F1 and F2) connect? Any help...

Ok here's the picture I promised of mine. This is looking at the winch from the back... the ground wire to the battery goes on the stud on the bottom of the winch, the positive goes on the solenoid stud where it's circled (covered by my fat hand). The others are self-explanatory.

Oh yeah, and this is looking at the control box with the top up as well. Hope this helps/makes sense.

I think my winch is the only one with a 3 solenoid control box.

Thanks for the picture matt. Maybe Ill just buy another solenoid and upgrade...

Before you do that, check to see if the M5000 had a three solenoid control instead of a four. I might have mixed the two controllers up on you :o

If that's the case, I have the other controller.
