This was done - BLEEDING THE BRAKES!!

Damn glad I wasn't coming down a drop off or and emergency stop

so I slapped this together

too bad I've got almost $100 into the wilwood crap that they won't do anything about

two bolts or 4?

there were 2 bolts holding it to the frame and 2 bolts holding on the MC adapter then 2 bolts holding the adapter to the MC
It was connected correctly as far as I know.

there's just not enough material there especially for cast AL that will see constant fatigue loads

Looks like he's running a single MC so it only has 2 bolts while the dual MC setups have 4 bolts. Just curious what ratio is your pedal?

Here is why I was asking two bolt or four. Seems to me that if you had it bolted to the top bolts that it would break right where it has. I have been pondering the smae mounting options of my buggy. I welded a plate between the bars a nd mounted it to that plate using the m.c. bolts and after seeing this (I have been debating whether or not to do it) I am going to put a plate on top to bolt to as well. Had you had a plate where the mc bolts to it I don't think this would have happened. Here is what the bracket should look like in my opinion. I'm not the best at paint so. The red areas are the plate(s) the green would be the welds, and black lines just definint the plate under the bracket.

the bracket is AL and it all came from wilwood, even the adapter to move the bolting for a single MC

The steel thing I made won't break. I would just gusseted it up had I had a tig or it been steel. their choice of material was poor, this application will see high fatigue loads and it just cracked and the grew and broke

still somewhat confused with what your sayin - the mc was bolted to and adapter with 2 bolts in a vertical line, then the adapter bolted to the MC with 2 bolts in a horizontal line - the adapter just rotated the mounting holes - it too was AL and offered no extra support

yes those are the only 2 bolts that are supposed to be mounted to the chassis

the other 2 are for holding the MC on

if you were supposed to make a bracket to mount between the pedal and MC you might as well make the whole bracket yourself like I did in the end. It's the whole point of buying the damn thing in the first place.

I totally understand your point. Like I said above I have the same brackets in my buggy and I want to make sure that I do not have this happen. Although I did look at Cole Deasons 3 seater Fusion chassis and noticed that it is mounted in all four holes just has longer bolts through the m.c. and bracket and plate.

cool - definitely brace it up then - better yet just remake it outta steel. Took an hour maybe
