so i was telling my guys at the shop about the bomber class and how i wanted to build a rig for this... i had a cherokee, but they didnt seem real intrigued about it... so i mentioned that this kid john, who started putting a head gasket on his car and never finished, had tried selling me his car as he had no interest in finishing it... they immediately perked up... both of these guys are into honda's and the whole import thing, so i gave the cherokee to ben and decided to build a FWD 1990 civic hatchback...

in case you didnt know, here is the link for the race...

so this is the plan... gut the living **** out of this car, full cage, reassemble the engine, lift it and beat the piss out of it.... so here is what my $200 bought me... a beanered out dumpster full of fast food...

so the first order of business was to clean that nasty bitch out and begin gutting it... we got the car stripped and the suspension installed... here it how it this afternoon... total time invested... maybe 3hours... here it is w/ 14 inch aluminum wheels... working on some tires, but im trying to keep the budget around $500... im at ~$400 now... this includes the car, tubing for the cage, window nets and gauges... scored a radiator, struts and wheels for free!!!

**** Jimmy, I think you have enough protection in that thing. I take it rubbings racing within the bomber class. :driving:
I'm still working on my ride. What did you use for your roll protection. Could I use fence tubing or metal conduit?

its all HREW... all of that cage is less than 100 lbs and under $100... it is after all a shitbox civic that wasnt designed to jump, so i figure you cant win if you dont finish and if it fell apart that would suck....

Jesse says those Koni adjustables will net you a 2 lb. weight savings...before his ADD kicked in.

Are you running a spoon engine out of Hector's garage?
actually i am running the stock 1.5L w/ a throttle body... absolutely the most basic fuel injection on the planet... seriously i bet the drivers door on my dodge has more wiring in it than the entire EFI on the civic...

so the engine is back in and i decided that i would simplify the wiring a little, you know just in case there was a problem it would be easier to track down instead of pulling my hair out sorting through bundles of wire that was just hanging because of all the **** i have taken out... well a few hours later, this is what was left over... what a ****ing nightmare!!! but i am confident it will fire up on the first try...
