I have a brand new weber 32/36 on my 20R. I have followed weber's instructions exactly. I am running 2.5 PSI using a Holley FPR. For some reason, the truck is running waaaay too rich. The truck runs best with the idle mixture screw lightly seated, and even then, it still turns the plugs black (after just backing out of the driveway and running down the road once (about 1/4 mi).:wtf: :booo:

I bought the carb from a friend who said it was for a 20R. I have never over torqued the mixture screw. I'm pretty much stumped. Anybody have any thoughts?

Float level perhaps...

If it were me, I'd drop kick that POS into the dumpster where it belongs.

Ditto. Webers are POSs. That said, on mine which supposedly came jetted, it was COMPLETELY wrong.

Im not saying you have to. My Weber has been running good for me for a while, its just aggravating when you get high up on mountains and it doesnt run well due to the altitude, or when you get on angles and it dies out no matter how you adjust your floats, etc.

All you need to do is re-jet it and I'm sure it will run great for you, as good as it can run anyway.

I just noticed something interesting... I went out and looked at the box that the carb came in, and it is for a Toyota Celica 8RC, 18RC. Wouldn't this mean that the jets would be too small? The 18RC is a 2L right?

Anybody have jetting suggestions? Also, how far should the choke plate open up when hot?
Verticle, if yours doesn't, adjust it till it does. Loosen up the 3 screws around the housing, hold the throttle just a little open (enough to allow it to move easily) and adjust it till it's straight up with it hot/running.
