welder question

Got a Ready welder and a 180amp Hobart any reason not to use the Hobart to power the Ready welder?
I'm playing with aluminum.

its actually the best option. I have the same ready welder and use my esab 250 to spool gun. way more heat adjustability. with batteries its 12 or 24. with the mig its dc and clean, and adjustable. works well. you'll have to turn the wire speed to 0 and zip tie the trigger on, other than that its a snap. do you have 100% argon?

Yes on the argon. I've been using the Premier Power Welder on the non existant jeep but thats a pain in the ass.
Another ? the welds are sooty black they clean up OK with a wire brush but I'm wondering am I out running my gas?

honestly I have had the same experience, but again, they clean up well and aren't porous. that makes me think plenty of gas.
