Is it possible for a pro to weld a mounting tab back on a cast PSC steering box? Broke one or two (of four) tabs off the last time I had a deathwobble, finally found the it tonight after replacing everything else. ::)

I think best is with a stick, but can be done with a mig with pre and post heating on the cast material, but I am not expert at all, really a newb to welding but I have read a little about it.

Pull-A-Part

To do it properly that box would have to be completely broke back down stripped bare preheated and all that crap. F that mang..

I got this. Use only nickel rods or wire, which are very high $$$, like $60 for 5 rods. P is right though it needs to be broke down so you can preheat and postheat and not burn the seals and all out.

The box was on the Jeep when I got it and I don't think I have any paperwork for it, so warranty probably won't happen. I don't think they would sell just the box without the gears so I'm looking at $415 or try to weld what I have. At least I know it can be done.

Seriusly ask them though, hell you may get an op to buy just the case, at cost or something cool as ballz like that.. its worth a try, worst case they say no nad your still fugged :flipoff1:
