So the bolt busted about an inch down. I thought I heated it enough to loosen the factory locktite but I was mistaken. Should I try an EZ out or play it safe and take it to a machine shop? Can anybody recommend someone in Whatcom or Skagit? My main concern is screwing up the carrier.

Oh and the good news is its the 8.8 in my Bronco so I can't even pull the carrier with the shaft in.

I was gonna say...they make an extractor for that...BUT, I have always had good luck using a pick, and rotating it counterclockwise, catching the sharp edge usually left by the last thread that's in there...

Just pound the pin out. It will shear the chunks off left in there. Then ya can pound the top one thru. Sometimes the bottom stays in the pin or can be tapped out too.

Thanks guys. I had considered pounding it out since I couldn't get a drill centered in the hole with the diff in the way. I ended up using a right angle adapter and just drilling the hole at a slight angle and a little shallower than I would prefer, to keep from hitting the threads but it worked fine.

After all that, I ended up getting sold the wrong locker and can't even finish up. Really wanted to head up to Walker tomorrow.

ive daily driven weded/spooled rigs for the last couple years... more predictable than a locker
