we're not alone in the whole 'unauthorized' thing...

Found an interesting thread today...

Seems to me that we could all benefit from working together. I was surprised, and impressed with the response by most Hikers we talked to today.

What I don't get is, if unauthorized hiking trails are a problem, why then does DNR not mind them hiking Rieter?

One thing about reiter--you can go anyplace out there via a trail of some kind.

You saw this at the last work party/trail marking..

I never knew there were people out there who thought they had the authority to tell you where, you could, or could not walk.

I don't know any hunters who stay on specific trails.

Why do people put up with this?

ha! and in many cases you don't even need to be on the trail, you can just tromp through the woods... Legally!

I think its cool they're looking at this issue as well. it sounds like something all the user groups can rally together for.

Hmmm... this is kinda a odd subject. Unautherized hiking trails... I know many of my favorite hikes are nothings more than a game trail through the woods. Interesting...
