What axle is this?

Its in a 65 El Camino but was told its a very early GTO axle. All the pictures I pull up on the web dont match the diff cover. Looks like stock GTO's came with a a gm 8.2 or a 8.5. Heres a pic of it. Can you help me out?

Dude, what'd you smoke to think that's a truck coilsprung axle??? The chev p/u coilers have a totally different setup... This looks like an 8.2...is definitely a car axle.

i have the same axle in my olds... its 8.2 or 8.5 depends on if the yoke has u-bolts or straps...if it has straps it could be the 8.5..u-bolts is 8.2..71 was the changover year.. are you getting rid of the axle?
