What is the good and bad about this project? I am not really digging the rear truss, Kelly what do you think about that? When this popped up a while back I said I would consider selling my heep for it. Now here the bastard is again tempting me. Is he realistic on how much it will cost to finish it? Lets hear it... :fish:

Those trusses look like ****!

Small hiems by todays norm

Too much gearing with 6.17's??? Kelly?

35 spline front to back?

Nice list of parts and probably worth the $15K

Yeah, the trusses kill me. The heims on that size rig are probably okay. I have 6.17's now, but on a heavy rig with 44's. But you can never have too low gearing in my opinion.

Good question on 35 spline stuff, you would think so, but it is worth asking.

If my tyke wasn't due within the week I'd be west bound and down!

Thats kinda like trying to start a fight and making your buddies hold you back, ha ha lol. I totally dig that buggy and no i don't think it would lack much to finish it. But $2k? doubtful! Be nice to see what all they've done to it since. And don't forget about tearing it all back down and painting it!

I am not a huge fan of the chassis. I guess cost depends on if you can finish it out or would have to pay someone to do the rest of the fab work. I was say $5k to finish it would be a little more realistic.

What it would cost to finish is totally un realistic to assume.. . 4 guys could / would finish it 4 different ways.

That being said, I think for the parts list and as "close to done" as it is, its a fair price. Alot of that boils down to what you want and what you expect as well. The links appear to be way high ( the big trusses you complain of ) but that makes it hella stable as well if done properly. Is it ? Who really knows until you really put hands on it. Theres a grip of un knowns in buyin a rig like this one. Boils down to what your budget and time is... of course what you want in the end for what you've spent as well.

I am all about this if he takes 15K. wow, that's a nice ass parts list. sell the axles and put some of your own in with the right trusses, track widths and whatever else. I say do it. I think that fugger has some serious potential. btw, 4.10s are better with that case. you want the wheelspeed in xrra.
yeah joel, you have 6.17 with what tcase gears? lets say 205, so that's 30.8:1, about what I like for wheelspeed wheelin. with a 3.8 atlas you are looking at 58.6, or about half what yours has in low. that means you will be in third gear to make it move, let alone rip. this is from experience with heath's buggy with 4:1 in the tcase and 4.1:1 in the ends. geared higher than 58:1 and its too slow on the high speed sections.
paul, with your 4.10's in it its ~39:1, perfect as fawk for xrra. way lower than mine (33:1) and still high enough that you'll be getting gears on the way through. I doubt you'll use up that gear with 40" tires.
that is the most financially feasible way you will make this **** happen
finishing the chassis....easy for paul or I
joints, you need big lowers. those aren't big enough. make a deal with mattO and get some big boys for labor :flipoff1:
I say sell those bling axles down the river for coin and put yours in with the Right gears and rock the fawk out.

Since you brought up XRRA..............

quoted from a PM from Randy Rodd

the flavor w/ v/8 and 40's seems to be 3.7 two speed w/ 4.56's. smaller v6 and import motors like dermo are 3.7 w/ 5.13 give or take. a few guys w/ lovell are running 4.88. give me a break down of you motor choice, trans and style of axle rear mount or front mount motor??? wheelbase was huge diff n hannibal. we were playing around w/ tire pressure and some other things to see what works best out there, we bounced around way to much with 10f and 6r so we went to 6f and 5r and we broke that two min time barrier.................

I just talked to the guy, he currently has a deposit on it. If anything changes he said he'd call me back.

wyatt if the guy calls back and you get it let me know i will help you with whatever i can. you have seen my welds i am a master :flipoff1:

Wyatt, you want me to withdraw my deposit so you can get it.

Fawking with you. :flipoff1: I will be jealous as **** if you wind up with it.

Joel you actually made my heart stop for a second! FAWKER!

Yeah woudl still take some work. Sell those axles and be quite a ways into finishing it. I already have a HP60 with 4.88's just need to bling it out.
How sick would it be if that deal falls through.
