August 15-24th. I will try to update this day by day if I can/feel the desire rather than waiting till the next week to try to get it all in one thread.

Left from work Friday at 4 for Attica. Blazing it down the interstate @ 80~ the whole way. FYI Illinois does not have gas stations every 5-10 miles. I had to go OFF the interstate 12 miles just to fill up, so that burned 30-45 minutes. I just wanted to get there to drink beer with my boys!

Saturday, XRRA of course, no pics, but you have seen them all by now.

Sunday 8-17
God damn what a day! I was 20 miles out of Indy and stopped for food. NO WALLET!!! Searched the entire contents of my bike 4 times. Nuttin....go back to Attica Inn. Nothing. Backtracked my last 24 hours....nuttin. I put my last $4.34 in the bike and went to the party site from the night before. Nobody found anything. I was getting to the point I was going to have family use their CC at a gas station and just go home. Sitting at a park in Attica, went through my **** again. Go to pick up my tank bag and see a buldge in the front of the bag.....there it was in a hidden storage spot I had no idea existed (just got this bag a few weeks back). So off I went at about 2:00

Rode through DT Indianapolis, IN for giggles. SCCA event going on, that I hit the very end of.

Stopped at what I called a river walk for lack of better terms to have a Rockstar and a smoke. I have still not eaten today and was getting a bit worn out so I jetted outta town.

and quit snapping pics driving down the highway :o
Hangs from mah jacket. I can turn on and snap blind shots and take the ones that come out....which is not many.

Trying to get my ass outta bed, pack up and get some free food downstairs.

Then off to Escort to get my radar, Stop by a cycle shop to look at a bag for the rear. My **** is packed way too full and a PITA to keep in check, then get as close to Knoxville area as I can which is a haul as I am not straight lining it today. Going through WV, VA and not KY.

Yea I spoke with him around 5... he was near Bristol, eatin at a huddle house and chillin, tryin to catch a 2nd wind and headed towards Knoxville I believe... Hittin the dragon tommorow ! :woody:

Yup!!

Adding more to the gallery now. SLOOOW at this hotel south of Knoxville. I am about ~50 miles from the Dragon, should be a great day tomorrow.

From Cincinnati I went through Charleston, WV and through VA and ate dinner near Bristol. LONG ~550-600 day I think. I need a better seat if I plan to do this much more. That and a couple people to ride with. I get bored easily and have not stopped for any sites, etc. Must be the ADD.

1600mg of Ibuprophen and a few High Lifes should put me right for tomorrow. I am fawking beat and it's only 10:30

I am a whopping 85 miles SE of where I stayed in Knoxville last night. In Bryson, NC. Nice ass little town. Going to look into rafting in the morning if I can get my ass outta bed after these 8 beers and steak dinner. :P

Hit Deals Gap today. Very nice area, I highly recommend it. Going to see if any of the local photogs have any pics of me going through in the next couple days to get some action shots. Prolly a total of 250 miles today, 85% of that was corners......LOTS of corners. truly amazing in the part of NC/TN. It's kinda grabbed me like Moab did back in 99-00 when I went there for the first time. The riding is as great as the scenery. No offense to the cruiser guys, but there was WAY too many of them out there today, monkey ****ing around going 15mph. no ****. I know the limit is 30, so at least lets attain that or get off the highway. rant off. ::)

Sadly by the 3rd time through I felt real confident in my cornering and can see how some get in over their heads. One local told me it's near double digits for deaths up there this year!! Thankfully for me I am focused on getting home and not dragging pegs all day long.

All my pics are here http://30bones.smugmug.com/gallery/5708850_7m8Be#352229332_tQfFq

This was at the north end and my first trip through (went 3 times I think) 2 or 3 of these coaches going through. I didn't think much until I went through. :huh Anything larger than a truck should not be allowed through there IMO

Theres a website dedicated to it... Ive seen it before when we first moved down here, sporty cars and all kinds of cool pics. I've always wanted to check it out ! :afro:

Looks like a cool place. Crawford told us about it a few years ago, he said lots of deaths up there. There is a wheelin spot called Robbinsville that is up that way somewhere I believe.

That dude was draggin **** each corner. Not that it's hard on a cruiser, but the fact that he didn't seem to let up was cool enough for me. The only cruiser I saw today that didn't hold up traffic. One group was from 'bama...I stopped 4 times and still caught them, I finally gave up and putzed to the end. ::)

i drove that in my black RX7 after i picked it up in ashville.....it is intense in a car, could not imagine it on a bike...

see you in a day or so.....
