What is this picture?

I see this on digg.com all the time. To me it most resembles somebody holding a very large hockey puck. For a while I thought it was a hand behind somebody's head, like they were kissing.

Just as I post this I can sort of see somebody holding their own face, like he's concentrating. Is that what it is?
