I have had a exide orbital in my buggy for 8 years and a jeep 2 years before that. has been a great battery. just time to replace. the orbital is a 6 pack style like optima. just wondered if there is anything else? I have heard so so reviews on the optimas, but I have never used one

I haven't had any luck with optimas at all. I am cheap and usually run a decent deep cycle battery and true to keep the roof right side up

I just bought a Sears DieHard Platinum for my new buggy. Sears had them on sale online, and you can pick up in store. It's a re-badged Odyssey. Lots of people are running them.

I went thru 2 red tops in my toyota truck in 2 years before switching to the AGM interstate. It never gave me any problems and had the same power rating as red tops. My buggy has an older red top that is holding up fine so far (sitting in the garage).

The Auto Zone Duralast Platinum in mine. Another rebadged cheaper Odyssey battery.

Using online coupon codes and in store pickup. ..you can get them for right at 100$

Optima red top. Had my rig for almost 2 years now and it was on it when I bought it. It died once when I had a break in alternator wire, recharged it, ain't had a problem since and that was about 6 months ago. I leave my radio and/or rock lights on a lot with it and it always cranks strong. Even going through when my rig wouldn't crank due to propane problems. I couldn't tell you how many times that battery turned the engine over without it actually cranking and charging the 3 weeks I was trouble shooting the problem trying to get it to crank.

Kind of a different subject, but I do this ^^^^^^ all the time. Its crazy, but you can sit out in the parking lot and buy stuff on your phone cheaper than going in. And they have it ready for you when you get in there.

Back on topic, I have a red top that has outlasted my last two trucks. I just keep swapping it out when I get another ride.

I had the same yellow top for 8 years. It sat on the self for months at a time on a couple occasions and was in atleast 6 different vehicles. Never had any trouble out of it. The yellow I have now is going on 4 years of use and sitting and no problems yet. But I had two reds that were absolute garbage.

Funny thing, I bought a Red Top in '06 and it was in 11 vehicles of mine. Finally traded my BMW and forgot to swap it out.

Runnin' on a Red Top borrowed from pholmann now... :flipoff1:

Anything else out there with the same technology of an Optima? :dunno: Judging by the price, they're proud of 'em.

I just bought a blim red top for 65 bucks from my local battery store...I don't know how long it will last figured I'll give a try
