Trying to figure out what these TC storage baskets are made out of?

Anybody know? I love the way they look.

McMaster Carr has several patterns and I think even O'Neal might have something along those lines...."Decorative Sheets with Patterned Openings".....scratch O'neal,I just checked their catalog and came up empty.

You ask and you shall recieve. I have used these guys for some stuff in the past, and yes they make an oval.

Click on "In Stock Material"
And on your left is some pattern choices. Select the drop down on "Decorative"

Looks like the 3/4" Ovals to me.

I think it may be called "perferated steel" and you go from there on what pattern you want.

That is what I had as a floor in my Bash Buggy and will be the floor and basket in my new buggy.

Mine was Round Staggard in stainless steel. I have a Ryerson here in town. I am actually going down tomorrow to find out if I can get some and send it up with Carl when he gets his buggy.

The stuff TC uses is some scrap they got at an auction and it is plain steel. I want some that I dont have to paint.

I will let you know what I fin d out , but you have one of these in your area I am sure.

Perforated sheets and plates are widely used for belt and machine guards, ventilators, screens and strainers, filters, trays and cabinets, grillesâ€" and a variety of ornamental purposes. Ryerson quickly furnishes all popular patterns and sizes to meet your needs. Holes can be round, square, slots, hex or decorative. Material can be steel, stainless, aluminum, or nick alloys. Thicknesses from 24" gauge to 1" plate. Whether standard or custom call Ryerson for your perforated needs.

I used to work at O'Neal and we always called it P&O Perforated Sheet. Comes each sheet individually wrapped with varying hole sizes.

Nolen thanks for that place. In the past I'd been ordering online, but Ryerson has a place here in town. I'll have to check it out.

I've always called/heard perforated steel the staggered circled holes not ovaled. We've used a lot of it in stainless for jobs. I'd hate to quote a 4x10 of that stuff in stainless. I got a quote last week for a 4x10x.063 and it was in the neighborhood of $350, it was almost half that this time last year.

That does look good.

I use to work for a non-profit design company and I got Gulf States Manufacturers to donate a huge roll of perforated aluminum to us for a project. The roll weighed so much we had to get a forklift to take it out of the back of the truck. Long story short, the project never got built so I went back a few months later to snatch the roll for my own, and I couldn't find it anywhere... that thing was worth a ton of money, and would have made for a kickass skin. It was 1/8" round holes, spaced about 3/8" apart and staggered.

Will you get a quote for stainless and AL? I just left Ryerson and asked fr a quote...he is going to email it to me.

No problem, what exactly are you wanting? Perforated? 16GA?

I want the Round Staggard with 1/4" holes. I asked the guy for SS and AL sheets. I asked for .063 like you quoted just to get a comparison. I am thinking 16 g would be good for a floor. I never measured the stuff in the Bash Buggy, but I would say it was no thicker than .100

I used perforated steel for my dash and floor of my storage area. The dash has probably 1/8" holes and the floor of the storage has 3/4", all 1/8" thick.

My local steel place had some pieces laying around.

The dash turned out pretty cool, different from the normal aluminum.
