Re: Re: What size tire ?

235s would be the maximum size i could use the way i drive!!

this depends on your particular style of driving, i have buddies running 38s on stock yota axles and a 4000lb rig with no issues, i have a lightweight sammi on 33s and break stock axles like they are glass, If you are easy and smooth 35s will be fine, if you are a herky jerky throttle jockey then you know the answer......
scared to death!!!!!

That's kind of what figure I have a yota 89 with sas marlin lift long bobby long fields locked and run 35s no problem but was not sure about the dana 35s toughness it's a automatic so throttle control should be ok I am thinking 35s more opinion !!

I've seen dana 35s break with 31"s, and they were in street driven rigs that the driver wasn't hard on at all.

Definitely wouldn't go over a 33

My tj on 35's grenaded a r&p merging onto the interstate. I was babying it too.

If your wanting 35's. I'd say find a good 8.8 rear end first. And haul the Dana 35 to the scrap yard. Buy the time you break and have it hauled back that will be close to the cost of a 8.8. :****:

I've seen a bunch of broke ring and pinions with 31s but then again had a buddy that was pretty damn rough on his tj with a Dana 35 and 33s and he never had an issue. I ran my tj for a lil bit with 33s and a Dana 35 open with no issue

Definately put an 8.8 in it. It's not any more expensive than fixing a broken Dana 35. You can really do a lot with Dana 30 and an 8.8.
