what do you buy/use/like and why?
i have some craftsman from when i started out...
and a lil bit of everything else..
matco FTW

Craftsman. While I know they are not the best, I cannot justify the expense of high zoot tools like Snap-On. Craftsman tools have proven to me to be reasonably priced, durable for my needs, and I have never been hassled about exchanging the ones I have managed to break for new ones nor do I have to wait for a dealer's tool truck to make the rounds.

Craftsman purely for there warranty, i break it go get a new one same day no waiting around bullshit for the truck

craftsman....I break a lot of ****, they ususally don't ask many questions.:redneck:

although I have a lot of cheap tools too.

A single choice poll?? Pullease...

If you buy ANY one brand of tool exclusively you're an idiot.

Depends what it for Trail or garage trail tools are cheap ones just what I may need to help garage. It depends on if it is a highly used tool or not to many variabols.

Crusty, please explain how it makes you an idiot for only buying from one truck?

Personally, I buy most all of my tool's off of the Mac truck, there are a few certain tool's that I feel are nicer from Matco and cornwell, so that's where I spend my other money. I have never had good dealing's with a single Snap on dealer, Lenn is just a boner, you can call that guy weekly and he will promise to stop by and of course he never does, and I forget the tool in Snohomish's name, but he would come by oh about every 6 month's, nobody wanted to buy from a flake, and then he would bitch saying this is why I don't stop by here because you guy's alway's have ton's of broken tools, well no ****. Seem's to me Snap on won't come by regularly or at all unless you are in a 10 bay shop or more. Mac tool's will alway's get the majority of my business.

The majority of my stuff is craftsman. It's inexpesive and gets the job done. When I need something better, I buy from Russ with Mac tools. I tried to pick up some stuff from Len on the Snap-On truck, but if he doesn't have it on the truck, good luck getting it. I brought some broken snap on stuff to him and after about 2 monthis, he never got it fixed. I actually took it to Russ and he got it fixed within his channels in about 2 weeks.

I think a big part of it is what kind of relationship you have with the tool guy. My snap on guy bends over back wards to take care of me--but I have also spent over $50k in tools over the years from him.

But being in the industry as long as I have I buy from what tool guy has the best product or a good product for a good price...

I feel the same way about tool man relationship, I spent probably 15k with Pat Porter, and I've spent about 3-5k with the new Mac guy. The tool guy has to show up first for me to buy tool's from him.

yes very true my matco guy lew bends over backwards and my mac guy is not to far behind him..

Snap-on
Mac
Matco

Dont buy much craftsman because dont have time to drive to sears for warranty ****, Usually dont feel like forking over full amount for tools (ie truck accounts) Quality aint as good as whats on tools trucks.

Did I say "truck"?

:flipoff:

Surely not every tool you own is from a truck... I have a mix. MAC wrenches, sockets, and such, Snapon screw drivers and a few misc. stuff, some SK, some Craftsman, some HF still... Lots of different brands.
