Wondering what kind of stall yall are running in your trannys. Just curious. My TH400 had a 6.2 diesel behind and I am wondering if I would not benifit from a little higher stall, like for a gas burner. Even though I have no idea what mine ia now, i think it is 1300-1700, but know one ever knows.

I believe I am going to go with a Stock Stall. After being around Greg Stones buggy it seems to work well with the Stock Stall.

Im rocking the stock stall speed also. I havent seen anywhere in crawling that a higher stall speed made the difference.

I had stock in mine, and now I have something like 2500 or 3000 stall because of the ultra bell situation I go into. Love the UltraBell, hate the cost of smaller than stock converters. Kid Rok hooked me up with one he had layin about. For slow technical crawlin, it kinda sucks, its very hard to slowly turn the tires or "ease" around since the rpms are higher . But the one thing Ive noticed and been doing technique wise is on ledges or climbs were I need that wheel speed I load it with my foot on the brake and floor it, it helps alot, its almost like having a clutch and dropping it.

Like I said, it wasnt by choice but out of neccasity and lack of options. I dont feel its a hinderance enough that Im going to change it. I wouldnt tell anyone thats the way to go, STOCK stall is the way to go IMO.

I had PTC build me a convertor with a 2650 stall that flashes at 3000 and is great for launches, I've got 5:13's and 4:3:1, but going down steep hills sucks. Gotta have brakes or a big tree to stop you. Stay down low on the stall around 1200-1500. thumb.gif

I have one of them there adjustable stalls....

it'll kick in at 1200 RPM or at 5k if I want :flipoff1: juzzz drop the clutch and letter eat!

Cool, thanks for the replies. Think I will stick with the stocker even when its time for a rebuild
