-Oh no I picked a side-
So what have to sheered off or broke?
Myself I have never sheered wheel studs or ripped steering components off.

steering studs usually fail the same way a wheel stud does.
Overtightened or too loose.
I dont understand the point of this poll?
No boobies or bacon or pizza?

Well, I know it is difficult for you to comprehend simple one sentence questions, so I will make it bigger so you may understand what he is asking.
The point of this thread is to find out which of the two you have either sheered or broken off.
If there are words in there that are too big for you to comprehend(understand) maybe I can have my 2 year old spell it out for you.
He is not asking what causes it or any other pointless"look at what I know" comments.![]()
Thanks Phil, I sooo get it now.![]()
Looking for real life statistics.

I think every lug stud I have seen failed personally has been to in-correct toque. Same can be said with toy arms..
real life tells me that if you have six steering studs you would have a fair comparison to six wheel studs failing and at what rate?
Pointing out that more people have killed FOUR wimpy steering studs but never broke 6 wheel studs is not proving anything?
Get some six shooters and then remove two wheel studs. Then report back on breakage.
He knows what causes it. Exactly why I dont understand the point of this poll
The poll should have been, "how many failures have you had due to not properly tightening things.
Has nothing to do with material strength. Both can be broke with stupidity not carnage.

So what is the proper torque on toyota hy steer arms? i just put mine on but pretty much still hand tight because i didnt find a torqe spec. I havent broken anything yet cause i havent finished a project to brake anything on:booo: this one should be done in a couple weeks thou:awesomework:
I forgot about my old 75 Chev shorty, this happened about 15 yrs ago...thanks to the schwab impact junkies...got tires rotated the day before a trip to Oregon dunes...got quad loaded, and made it down thereok, but the quad broke, and I had to head to Coos bay for a $2 woodruff key...pulled into the parking lot of ATV shop, and all 6 RR lugs sheered off!!! (lucky...); Stamper tire (independent Schwab) sent out a service truck changed the lugs/studs for me---no charge!!! I sat and watched him do the job...making sure the wheel wasn't overtorqued...THAT was the last time they touched my truck...
I haven't sheered or broken any studs, steering or otherwise on the wheeler...
