A few years back my co-pilot Chase Chambless and I were out in my CJ cruisin the creek and talking about lifes mysteries..
Mind you.. these were the high-school days and i'm sure we were in a very "open minded" state.. But he posed this question to me and now i pass it on to you guys...

There is an enourmous number of cars on the road each day...
So that's an enormous amount of tire wear each year...
Everyone's tires start out at full tread then wear down to nothing...
Tires are changed and the process is repeated..

Now there's not thick pads of rubber on the roads nor is there huge piles of worn rubber on the sides of the roads...
And you know tires can survive in the woods for Years, so they do not decompose quickly..

So where does all the rubber go dunno

I would assume most of it grinds into the asphalt itself. Thus the reason when it does not rain for a while and when it finally does the roads can be very slick at first. dunno
