I've only been to Gray Rock once before and the dust was pretty intense. What's the strategy? Should I camp as close to the entrance as possible? Or maybe way down at the end?

Let's pretend I'm an anti-social prick looking for a clean quiet campground. Where would I find that?

If the dust is bad that weekend it will be bad everywhere... Just try n stay off the main road as far as possible..
Mid way down on the right there is a decent spot to get off the road.. But Horsepower hill exits right into your camp ;D

Don't camp.
I thought about that but the holiday in express is $100+ a night. In the end I decided to compromise and stay there on Saturday night while camping Thursday/Friday. That way I'll be able to clean up, hang out at the after party, sleep well, and drive home well rested and clean.

I'm wheeling three out of the next 4 weekends so I need to avoid bursting the budget.

Open door policy at my place for racers...

I dont have much but hey, its not dusty... Im sure there's several guys on the forum local that would help you out as well.

Im 15min from the park .

clean/quiet won't happen...

... I tried that once at Gray Rock :flipoff1: Then some jackasses about drove into my tent :flipoff1: and got out shouting at me to wake my ass up laughing1

...and that was the first time I met John G, P, Matt O, TK, the Peak Empire clan and RIcky B laughing1.... the rest of the trip was a blur

You know the people that camp far away from us really want to be close to us. Hell we had the whole campground following us around last time we was there. Good times. thumb.gif

It was either that night or one of the two following nights the slap-fest was on laughing1 I'm not a big fan of that--John G was breakin that mess up  laughing1 Were any of you there when Burn and those cats shot out Carl's windshield on the XJ? later we find him sitting in it puking out the door laughing1

If you camp on the far side of the rodeo ring you'll have less dust, quieter surroundings and an awesome view of the sunset.
