heres my plan.

i've already replaced the bulbs
all the other lights work

next:
fuse
wiring behind the lights
third??? look around the foot pedal? i don't know

this is a 86 chevy

If your brake switch checks out--its your turn signal switch--the brake feed goes thru the switch and its not uncommon to loose it thru the switch....

Glad it was something simple. :awesomework:

it actually started not working again. i think the switch is messed up.

there was a split in power wire from the switch, what kind of dumbass gets power for something from the brake light switch.

i took the split off it (wire was cut and went no where) and tried it and it still doesn't work. all the mechanics of it seem to be working right. do these badboys go bad often?

ahh, that might be it too

because i test the power off the brake switch and it got power when i pressed the pedal.

The split was probably there for a trailer brake controller :;

They usually don't go out very often, but I had a Ford that would eat one every couple of months. Finally figured out the switch wasn't mounted right.

lol yea must've been something like that lol

when i press the pedal the wire is getting power. maybe it is the turn signal thing

I "think" power is suppose to come in and out :eeek: so one side always has power and the other gets power when the brake is pressed.
