So I've been trying to figure out some rear springs to use in my 81 std cab long bed cut to std bed length. The NWOR 3"s I've got in the rear suck major donkey balls, but the fronts work great. So I'm debating whether to just start playing with the random leaves I've got around the shop, or try going with something from a different truck.

I remember hearing/seeing something somwhere about some mazda or ranger leaves for the rear? And maybe YJ springs? I can't remember a darn thing about what model or years I'm supposed to try and find in the junkyard though. and searching here and pirate didn't turn anything up.

I'm trying to avoid moving any spring hangers at this point, but I could certainly make up some "boomerang" type shackles to run some springs that are a touch longer than my stockers.

Can anybody help me out?

I looked in the FAQ on pirate and didn't see anything about any springs besides chebbies, waggy's, RUF, and some limited info on F150 rears

Any springs from a rig that was spring under will have more arch that your stock springs. You can add these in using ur top spring.

some rigs that i can think of: 2wd toyota/nissan/mazda pickup, ford expoder, isuzu trooper, jeep wagoneer/j truck, an probably others.

might wanna check out the toyota dictionary on pirate:awesomework:

thanks board. That actually helps me a lot. Especially since I've got a couple guys that i know that are converting from 2wd to 4wd first gens so I got springs to choose from.
