Which transmission

Just got a new ride and I am wanting to swap it to a auto and I am running a ls2 engine and a atlas in a somewhat stock cj frame. I'm trying to decide between a turbo 350 or 400. Which one is longer which one is wider I want to be able to leave transfercase flat and not have to run a two piece driveshaft. I need some ideas so let here em

I think there are so close in size it wouldnt matter, but the 400 is stronger trans, but i know they made a short tail and a long tail 350, believe the short 350 and 400 are about the same

the T400 is 2 3/16" longer than a T350 from engine mounting surface to adapter mounting surface or main case length. 400 is strong but so can a 350 which has a better first gear and lighter.

TH400 is much stronger; I wouldn't mess around with a 350 trans if starting from scratch. Weight penalty is only about 20 pounds. Clocked flat or nearly so, you could probably do a one piece front shaft with either trans with a driver drop front end (assuming it is since your sig says HP). Maybe need oil filter relocation depending on how low you are going.

A 400 is like 24.5" and a 350 is 22" heres a picture of the out put shafts

don't turn your back on the 4L80E, it's bigger and heavier than a th400 but has a stronger case and overdrive

reverse manual valve body all the way! also get the winters/art carr shifter.
