Seriously, Im envious of the options out there right now. I dont know how many people cruise through for sale and day dream about things like I do but man if your in the buggy market its insane the possibilities at hand right now. I have seen alot of ton axles for great prices, lots of other parts / parts rigs / new products that allow for a variety of cool **** as the outcome.

I guess my mind wonders I dont know, Capt Carl listen carefully son this scenario seems to fit you and what we have talked about to a T man !!

Idea startd like this... Capt Carl ( My buddy Brennan ) has been on me about buying my buggy. I dont really want to be without a rig anytime soon as it took me 5months and all my scrouging to build mine as it is. Im still tweaking as money allows but I love my rig even as is to much to sell it. And I know what I can do to get were I want it to be will not put me out to much more money once its available to me again.

So in my thought process of how to get him in a buggy I came up with something that is "IMO" very enticing and very doable at this moment in time simply because of "options" available from several folks selling things and vendors like EOR making "buggytime" doable again to average joe ! Stay with me here.

How would a NEW 321 Essentially Off Road Chassis with the follwing sound to you..

( I think its hard to beat for the money personally, its more rig than I have and I wouldnt part with mine for less !!)

321 Chassis
Jimmys4x4 Chevrolet Colorado Fiberglass front clip ( I intend to do this to mine when I can... buy my Fiddy someone ! laughing1 )
Vortec 350
TH350
231/205 Doubler TwinStick
D60 Alloy USA's and CTMs all the way through Poly Flanges capping it off
DE Ram High Steer
14B with Discs both welded both rocking 4.56 gears.
Linked front and rear with 1.25ends on the lowers and 7/8's ends on the uppers 2" .250 wall DOM lowers and .250 wall uppers
42 Iroks Hummers with Staun Internal double BL's OOOOR the 44TSL's and H1 duals..
1350 or larger driveshafts front and rear

Granted alot of the drive train would be used parts, Id go through them and replace what needed replaced clean prep and make it all look right... Basically Id be taking Blacksheeps 6K parts rig and making it what it needs to be, scrapped and packaged in something sexy, user friendly and safe using a sprinkle of new parts to make it asthetically pleasing and not so rough around the edges. Not that it would take a whole lot using the 321 Chassis as a foundation, lets face it that thing looks sharp and has great lines.

Obviously choices like painted finished, coilovers, winch, air bumps etc would have to be considered as extra expense the buyer could finish this himself or it could be negotiated until everyone was happy, Im easy like that and there are alot of folks that would line up for this ONE TIME chance rig to get finished up. I already volunteered Joe's Shop to do paint if this is the case, and Joe doesnt even know it. :flipoff1:

Seriously though , how come you buggy dreamers havent jumped on something like this ? I wish last year when I built mine this kinda stuff was on the table. Would have been faster, cleaner, a little different combination of parts better suited to they type of wheeling Ive been doing and damn near bulletproof !! :afro:

OK sorry, I got in daydream ville a bit some one needs to PLEASE steal this dream and run with it Call me, pm me , Id love to run with it just write a check and give me a few months and youll be on the trails stompin that ass in style ! for half the money most people get into a rig of this caliber ! thumb.gif laughing1

CAPT CARL, were you at son ?!! Lets DO THIS !!

I like all dat idea.

I too have been browsing all the "for sale" stuff.

I thought everybody just knew I had a chassis I couldn't afford and no money to go with it and were trying to unmercifully tease me! :'( :'(

So yer saying someone needs to buy kelly's sheep and use the parts ina new chassis?

all in favor say I

I

Basically... **** man youd have all the parts in half the time for half the real monies...

Yep even though its a sweetness situation, it still takes a lil money to put together ! laughing1

you aint lying P!

I've been picking up stuff that I think is good deals, and I could use for spares or another buggy.
I really do think I will end up having someone build me something (single seat race only) late in '09, granted thats a long ways off and lots can happen between now and then. Unless of course XRRA splits classes. Moonbuggies & Pro-mod bodied style.

Kellys got great parts for a wheeler, I wish he would get it sold, it would help him out a lot and help motivate him to build a racer himself.

The underlieing on all of this is times are tough, and not just that a good portion are saving money for something going on in Feb. :woody:

I've been tempted to do exactly that for some time now and it's definitely the cheapest way to go to get into a buggy, still may decide to do it.

sorry guys, I put an 8274 and some $22 walmart lights on it last night.
its worth more now :flipgotcha: laughing1
agreed P. People look at the sheep and see rough as ****. I walk up and point to about 12K worth of **** you would have to buy new to build a buggy. only change might be an atlas if you wanted a little guy (106" -). the doubler is perfect, and the same ratio's as a stak damn near for anything 110ish and up.
**** it, I'm still contemplating parting it the more I look at systems. To build my new rig, the systems will break me. sell the big stuff I won't use and keep all the other small nickel adn dime ****

You need to just build you a chassis or pick up a 321 and make YOURSELF a new rig with the Sheep parts... you already have them and you arent going to 'compete' so why build a comp rig :dunno:

I was talking about this today with dad. Louis, if I had your buggy or a TC buggy no way could I in good conscience go beat it like it dont care in XRRA. I'm so cool as **** with mine being a TC knockoff without all the bling custom gimicks. I dont feel guilty for tearing it up every single time out.

Nolens, yours, anything Woodlee, I love but damn I would destroy them, and you guys would just hate on me like no other. Now a Kelly built, its made for one thing to full on get it and get fawked up when you come up short. And you can walk away and say "****" but not lose sleep over destroying a 'SPENSIVE chassis.

Agree Kelly needs to (when the money/time is there) build a buggy. He may not comp it, but I he needs a comp style. Light, compact, yet robust, with some high HP.
He'll get there, or he'll keep wheeling my junk.

I love the idea Paul, somebody needs a buggy built, and if its you building it then awesome!

If thats the case people are going to Hate me because I am going to beat my buggy. There is no way I could justify spending my hard earned money to just creep around the woods and not truley enjoy it. Hell no I am gonna beat it just like my last jeep.
Bring on the HATE :eat:

If I lived at home with my parents I would beat mine like money is no object to :flipoff1:

You gotta find a balance of when to beat on your rig and when not to if you want to try and make 1-2 rides a month for a year. I think it says a lot about a rig/driver if they can walk up something that others have to beat on. Sometimes it is fun to just mash the petal and hang on, but a good balance will keep your rig together to have more fun with it.

my current thoughts follows yours P... i built a well balanced rig that i can beat the **** out of week after week and it rarely breaks.... harlan was a fluke, but w/ the axles, driveshafts, trans/tcase setup i have and a "conservative" 40" tire, it takes everything that big block has.... i could probably run 44s as alot of others do w/ the same/ similar setup, but then i would be on the on the edge of component failure IMO...

put all the money in the drivetrain and upgrade power as money allows, nothing sucks worse than breaking an axle shaft or something minor, because of an obviously unbalanced rig....
