I think they are cool as ****! Lol. Especially for only $6,800 brand new! Single seat, three wheeled, 84 mpg work commuter with heat and a/c! Can barely buy a high mileage Camry for that. If I knew they were dependable and weren't a mf'r to work on or find parts for, I'd consider buying one! Sumbitch would pay for itself in a year or two, especially if gas prices go back up.

Re:

No way they will be sub 7k here in the States. The gubment will make them pass a bunch of emissions and crash tests that will skyrocket the price and the manufacturer will skip us and sell to India where they will put five people in it and call it a family car.

Re:

Just read part of an article on it, damn. It is American made and says it has passed all the emissions and crash testing. Dann you can't buy a decent streetbike for $6800.

High fuel prices will be the key to their success imo. When gas was $4+, people were chomping at the bit to buy a shitbox metro, and hyper-miling was fun/cool. We even had dealers for those crappy looking zap electric cars pop up, and they were selling.

I drive ~75 miles round trip for work every day and I'd sure as hell be on the list for 1 if prices went back up like that. For now my VW polluter wagon gets it done at around 40mpg.

Better have a hell of a traction control system. I could see that thing really wanting to spin the rear tire on a wet road.

I will keep my 06 Jetta diesel. Pre emissions and a nice little car. It makes up for my Dodge diesel and H2 that burn dinosaurs at an alarming rate, even by my standards

Although, I have found myself cheating on my Jetta by eyeballing the government motors Volt.

With the shape, jet fighter 2 seater would have made it way more usable. I take at least 1 child with me 90% of the time. That'll be different in 11 years, but until then, it keeps me out of the market.

I have been watching these for damn near two years. I dont think they will ever go into production. The idea behind it is great if you read the articles. They are using the old geo metro 3 cyl blocks for their motors and supposedly went to the parts store and picked up every component on the motor. So they are keeping cost down and not making new parts. Also they have contracted pep boys to do all of their srvice/warranty work for no overhead in a dealership. Matter of fact wont be any "dealerships" they are ordered from a kioski and delivered to your house. All accessories are like a rzr or something. You order them and they are all plug and play. Whole car is pre-wired for all available options (which aren't many). I missed the demo they had in Bham last year. I wanted to go down and see what kind of room they had in them.

Bet you I will have one with driving 62 miles one way I dont care how dumb they look.

It has two seats. One behind the other like you stated "jet fighter" style.

Pretty sure it's front wheel drive by looking at the pictures...

For 30grand.....I'd hope so.
And they don't have heat, air, provide dry seating area, or get 84 mpg!

Idk ablut them going into production, I just saw a commercial on Science Channel about preordering them so I figured it was already in plans to produce them. If I didn't have so much **** to buy over the next year, I'd preorder one. I'd drive it every damn day to work, like you said, no matter how goofy it would look!

They been taking deposits for two years also. Hahaha

They was offering a grand off if you put the max deposit down.

My grandpa put a deposit down on one 6 months back or so. He's in a retirement community down in Florida. He's excited about it, but I have my doubts he'll have his before he passes away. He's in good health but I'm not holding my breath on it.

Ah....JD said they were single seat. NM, probably get one for the store if they come into production.
