why? what should I do?

I am replacing ujoints in my dads stock d60 axles he uses for backup. I got some spicer life series and see there only set up for the snap rings on the outside but stock axles are set up for internal snap rings? What should I do just install them without snap rings?

sounds like you may have got the wrong joints. the same size joint is used in some driveshafts and they would be setup for the external snap rings. the axle joints should have grooves for internal rings.. either way you gotta have snaprings or the caps wont' stay in very long..
