So....Like the RZR cages the one on the Cat was a pretty weak excuse for a cage. I rolled it once and it scared the hell out of me. lol
I built a couple cages for friends RZRs and then got started on mine. I have bend tech and use it some....Mostly I just fit and design as I go though. I can't draw for **** so I just fly by the seat of my pants. molaugh
Anyway...on to the pics.
When I got started I wanted to do it different than factory on the "A's" unfortunately they didn't allow that to be done easily. So I had to change plans right off.

As you can see I had to follow te factory lines to a certain extent.

Then I stood around and scratched my head a bit. I came up with this.

I started filling in with a slight bend in the center and tilted slightly down.

I did away with the two tubes in front and went with one and carried that all the way back.

The radiator cover is tight up against the seats so I had to do them different than a strait bar across. I never bent a 180* with my bender....So I tried it and it fit great.

From the back....

I wanted the back just simple since the rest had became so crazy looking.

I got it put back on....It was a pain it the ass to get all the bolts lined up but it went with some persuasion....

I was able to get my harnesses in...Still got to adjust them though. Overall I'm happy with it and can't wait to ride. It "feels" a LOT better just sitting in it in the shop. lol
It's all 1.75 HREW. :dblthumb:

Re: Wildcat cage....(Pic heavy)

Thats the first after market cage ive seen on an arctic cat, and so far its my favorite...
It really does look good, since I sold my XP it makes me wonder if i might like a Wildcat instead of another XP. That Wildcat X is tempting

Re: Wildcat cage....(Pic heavy)

What did the factory cage weigh and how much wight do you think you added.

I've seen a couple that look modified stock...Other than that...Nothing.
I've never regretted going from the XP to the to the Cat. It's longer, little harder to turn in the woods. Just had to get used to it like anything else. I do LOVE the locker in the front. Tie rods are the only problem I've had. I upgraded those to 7075 3/4" solid hex and haven't had any other issues. The X is a nice unit and will surely out perform mine. The factory doors are a joke....No more than Polaris nets with plastic clips though. ;D

I really have no idea John....Just a guess....I added about 100lbs or so. The stock cage was VERY open and a lot thinner material.

In this video where I roll it....I mashed one of the rear bars nearly flat, or crushed it so to speak. It tweaked the rest of the cage enough to bust the paint in the factory welds. In my opinion, much more and it would have completely collapsed. The added weight doesn't bother me. :****:

Why no door bars?
Not enough hours in the day. molaugh I've got a plan for them and it ain't $600 Pro Armors.

Re: Wildcat cage....(Pic heavy)

Not bad... Looks alot more sturdy than the stocker. The stock cage looks like the apillars would fold back if it took a hard hit on the roof... Your ready to roll now :spin:

Re: Wildcat cage....(Pic heavy)

About 2.089lb/ft. about 60 feet = about 125.34lbs.

I ain't taking it off just to weigh it.

Re: Wildcat cage....(Pic heavy)

Who cares bout the weight :dunno: I'd rather it be a lot heavier and sturdier than the 50lbs stock cages that come on these and the RZRs :****:

Looks good Draco! Haters gonna Hate!

I agree, I was just curious. When I exoed the Rhino, I could tell the difference, and 0.80 was used. Only 100 pounds added is really impressive. Looks good.
