Love that TOYOTA
Okay, on my warn 9K my retaining bolt keeps backing out and destroying my cable. I'm done with that system. I know I can't drill a hole through the drum like an 8274-50, so I am left to resort to other options.
What I was thinking of (Actually what Tom thought of) was to weld a small piece of pipe into the corner of the winch drum, run the cable through and use a cable clamp to double it over. I thought this was a mighty fine idea.
Another question. I got a new winch cable and it needs to have an eye splice put in. Is it okay to use cable clips? Like this on my 5/16" cable?
Or should I put a clamp and compression fitting at the new eye?
We have the press to correctly put the compression fitting on the cable at work. But we are out of the fittings. Any ideas on where to get them?
