I'm going to have to completely disagree w/ hotKarl on this one.....on my rig.....FAT....by ony of the std 'rules of thumb', I should be running a 12k winch and nothing less....but they are the slowest things in the world.....and I've been in a couple situations where having a winch w/ a fast unloaded linespeed has been a definite safety feature....I'll take faster over stronger every time.....you can always double it up when you really need it...--B
