Finishing up my buggy. I guess its a bouncer but will also crawl and trail ride, no mud boggs ever and I can't make up my mind about running a winch. The last 3 rigs I've had all winches and honestly the only times I remember using them was to help someone else. It might sound selfish now but I'm not sure I want to mess with 1 anymore. Everybody else excepts you to help them out but when a cable needs replaced I was the only guy buying it. :wtflol:

I have/had a winch on every rig I've ever planned to take off road.

Of course most everyone I ride with has a winch too, so no one ever gets butt hurt about having to help someone out of a jam

I've used mine more turning myself back over.
Found out the hard way that sometimes ppl can't
Always get in thd right spot to roll u rubber side down
I say winch. Our group will help folks out but typically
Use our for our stuff.

If you don't need one, you ain't trying hard enough! If it was a dedicated bouncer, a small one. A trail rig I would include a real winch.

I left a spot for one on my new buggy. I just didn't have the money to spend on a winch at the time. Hopefully have one soon though.

Took cage out my K10 to put new cab an sheet metal on after a trip to Harlan one year....
Got to drinkin an flopped it showin out....the cab came down on top of me an had my head pinned down in steering wheel an I couldn't breath....it had me compacted down in the seat... :****: ....people were gathered round tryin to git it off of me but a big block k10 with rockwells ain't light.....as I was passing out I could see my friend running to his jeep an my other buddy tugging on me screaming get the winch ....

Long story short we was at southern bog..... Finally got enough people around it to git it off of me.

But I still remember thinkin I'm gone be all right Robby gone git that winch over here an get it off me...
If we had been in mountains it would have been very different out come indeed...

So for all those dramatic reasons I say ****ing YES. Run a winch lol

I use my front winch as a suck down winch way more than I have ever used it to pull someone or myself out. Especially if you are the front rig on a narrow creek bed or valley, etc, somebody can't always get in front of you if you break. That's like a skydiver saying he never uses his backup chute so he will leave it at home...... :dunno:

I run two just to be sure lol 8 in front 10 in back you never know what kind of mess your going to wind up in!

x2 on the suck down. Being able to suck your front end down can make a huge difference some times.

Goodness JD I believe I would've worded that a little different!! Hahahah. I've often thought the same thing as Adam, have a winch on the front but never use it. And then I think about my luck.. It's kind of like if I FINALLY wash my truck, it's going to rain the next day for sure. Ha. Knock on wood I haven't used the winch for myself, but as soon as I decided to take it off I can assure you I would need it.

Heard Marilyn Manson was good at suckin' his front end down :wtflol:

molaugh that was just a crazy rumor........ that for some reason he took his sweet time to clear up. I'd have been like, "**** NO I DON'T!!!"

But yes. Winch. I went years without one and I probably owe two of my buddies a cable or two. :****:

You guys convinced me days ago to continue running 1. I already have the mount made up, just have to weld it to the axle... yep the axle :flipgotcha:
