I have done the same a few times with good luck.. Just make sure you put it on a power source you can shut off when you transport your rig..We had one go into reverse due to a bad switch we received from the supplier. It turned our winch on in reverse....From what we can tell we were in Montgomery on our way to GR and had a mess when we pulled into the park. I am surprised it didn't start an electrical fire while it was on the trailer!! ;D
